The Continuing Unfolding of the Crop Circles

Beyond sightings of alien spacecraft, there are the wondrously intriguing crop circles and pictograms. Most of these are not hoaxes, notwithstanding that some circles are the work of humans as can be discerned by scientific investigation and lab work. One of my favorite genuine formations is the 151 circle glyph formed near Stonehenge, England on July 7, 1996. This glyph appeared within 45 minutes during broad daylight, as reported by a former RAF pilot. Crop circles have been documented since the 16th century. Other illustrations of authentic ET pictograms include (but are not, of course, limited to): Hubbard, Oregon, 1964, Avebury England, 1994, Beckhampton, England, 1998, the “Crown” of Devizes, England, 1999, West Overton, England, 1999, Etchilhampton, England, 1999, East Kennett England, 2000, Broadbury Banks, England, 2000, the “Koch Fractal” of Milk Hill, England, 1997, Milk Hill, England, 1999, Milk Hill, England, 2000, Allington Down, England, 1999, Brummen, Holland, 1997, West Kennet, England, 1999, Uffington, England, 2000, Windmill Hill, England, 1999, Barbury Castle, England, 1999, Swindon, England, 1999, Liddington Castle, England, 1999, Avebury Trusloe, England, 2000, the “Mandala” of Woodborough Hill, England, 2000, East Kennet, England, 1999 & 2000, Alton Barnes, England, 1998, Beckhampton, England, 2000, Picked Hill, England, 2000, Stadskanaal, Holland, 2000, Chehalis, U.S., 1994, Bishop’s Cannings, England, 2000, Haspen Hill, England, 1999, Silbury Hill, England, 2000, Adam’s Grave, England, 2000, South Field, England, 2000,[i] Eastfield, England, in June 2004.
Most though not all of the crop circle design patterns follow strict geometrical rules of construction. The genuine formations usually ‘arrive’ at night in fields of wheat, barley, canola (rapeseed), oats, alfalfa or sunflowers. Crop circles are not confined to England, though the Circle Makers seem to be enamored of England. They have also been spotted in the United States including at the University of Virginia in 1998, Canada, Australia, Japan, India, Germany, France, Israel, Switzerland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Sweden, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Belgium, Finland, Russia, Spain and Austria and in other parts of the world.
In the author’s opinion, the ET crop circles are carefully planned and designed by extraterrestrial Circle Makers on their computers before the artist’s design is implemented on the ground by other crew. They are created and formed in the crops as a benign sign of their presence, the structure and precision of their art serving as a testimony to the extraordinary level of their science, creativity and good intentions. The flattened corn, wheat or other crops though folded into spiral and other formations, generally is not destroyed. The circle or other form is formed through a gentle bending and lengthening at the node (elbow) on the stork of plants within the crop circle somehow without harming the plant. In a crop circle stork, typically the first node above the ground becomes elongated as the moisture inside the node turns to steam, suggesting that the swelling of the node results from heating from something like microwave radiation. The higher nodes on the plant are tougher so that when the steam tries to escape they may blow out creating an expulsion cavity in the node. In contrast, if people stand on corn or other plants, they invariably cause the stems to snap. The stalks inside a crop circle are typically bent into what is known as a swirl pattern, and the circles may spin clockwise or counterclockwise or rarely even radiating straight out from the center. In patterns with several circles, one circle may spin clockwise and another counterclockwise. Even a single circle may contain two or more "layers" of stalks, each spinning in a different direction. In each case the plants, though bent by 90 degrees near the ground at the node of the stem, continued to grow and ripen, while crop outside the circle remains completely unaffected and form an upright standing wall. The Circle Makers have the ability to “comb” the stalks with as much ease as combing one’s hair, for those who still take the trouble to do that.
William C. Levengood, an M.S. in biophysics at the University of Michigan, has discovered that the cells at the node, the point at which the plants bend in crop circles, about a half to one inch above ground level, have fractured and scarred. He planted seeds from the cereal crops taken from crop circles and germinated them in environmentally-protected conditions in a germination chamber. He found that the date at which the plants germinated was the same as with the control plants, that is, plants outside of the crop circle area. Surprisingly, seeds taken from mature crop within crop circles, once they have germinated, grew at a very much more accelerated rate above ground level than the control samples, up to five times the normal growth rate even with little water or sunlight. On the other hand, seeds germinated from immature crop that was within the crop circles do not exhibit this growth boost but grow into weak seedlings. The root structure was much more extensive and healthy below ground level, as compared with the control samples - indeed healthier and more productive. That, too, carries enormous significance in terms of the potential to increase crop production worldwide, if we knew how to do this, though it appears that exposing crop to electrical pulses produce a similar spurt in growth rate. Mr. Levengood took his crop circle plants from seven or eight countries including Australia, America and Great Britain. Again, comparing these results with wind damage, hoaxing or trampling by human feet, these are not effects than can be readily replicated by humans. Indeed, many of the highly sophisticated and large-scale crop circles are being formed overnight on undulating ground in England, with the geometries precisely adjusted for undulations, at times even in the driving rain, within a matter of hours. Such circles would take humans several weeks to duplicate.
The genuine crop circles and other pictograms were not formed by tornados, other weather phenomena or vortices, helicopters or airplanes. They were not formed mystically or by psychics or spirits. They are being created by rational beings outside of our sun system, the Circle Makers. The Makers take great delight in their magnificent art. The pictograms are benign and are a continuing work in progress. In contrast, human hoaxers produce tracks and damage plants in their effort to imitate the Circle Makers. No human can duplicate the precise, complex and intricate art work of the Circle Makers without causing damage and without taking several weeks to do what is done in the space of hours or minutes.
A study of crop circles during the period 1978-1988 conducted by Dr. Gerald S. Hawkins, former chair of Boston University’s astronomy department, revealed that the proportions of the circle diameters and the areas inside the rings produced diatonic ratios corresponding to the white keys on a piano.[ii] For satellite and spaced circles, the diatonic ratio is the large diameter divided by the small diameter. For concentric circles, the diatonic ratio is area of outer circle divided by area of inner circle. For ringed circles, the diatonic ratio is given by the circle at the "up" edge of the ring, measured outward from the center of the formation. The ratios discovered, such as 3/2, 5/4, 9/8, ‘rang a bell’ in Hawkins’ mind because they are the numbers which musicologists call the ‘perfect’ intervals of the major scale in European music. The white keys can be related to the ordinal numbers 0, 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 12. The black keys can be related to the ordinal numbers 1, 3, 6, 8 and 10. When Professor Hawkins analyzed the geometric ratios from the individual crop circles, he discovered that all of these corresponded to integer numbers, whereas arbitrarily sized circles would often result in fractional numbers. These precise ratios cannot be explained as coincidence.
Also noteworthy was Professor Hawkins’ discovery that each of the derived ratio numbers from the crop circles were diatonic, that is, directly corresponded to the white keys of a piano. If you take the note C on the piano, say, then go up to the note G, you have increased the frequency of the note (i.e., the number of vibrations per second), or its pitch, by 1 1/2 times. One and one-half is 3/2. Each of the notes in the perfect system has an exact ratio — that is, one single number divided by another, like 5/3. The notes in the major scale are C, D, E, F, G, A and B. The ratios of the increased frequency from the note C are 9/8, 5/4, 4/3, 3/2, 5/3, 15/8, finishing with 2, which would be C octave. The probability that ratio numbers from the crop circles were diatonic was just a coincidence in the 25 crop circles analyzed in that study was calculated at 1 in 400,000. In fact, the Circle Makers are math whizzes and know precisely what they are doing.
The Boston professor discerned that some of the most visually striking of the crop-circle patterns embodied geometric theorems that express specific numerical relationships among the areas of various circles, triangles, and other shapes making up the patterns.[iii] In one case, an equilateral triangle fitted between an outer and an inner circle. It turned out that the area of the outer circle is precisely four times that of the inner circle. Three other patterns also displayed exact numerical relationships, all of them involving a diatonic or musical ratio discussed above. These designs evidence the astute mathematical ability of the Circle Makers. Hawkins found that he could use the principles of Euclidean geometry to prove four theorems derived from the relationships among the areas depicted in crop circles. He also discovered a fifth, more general theorem, from which he could derive the other four. All geometries resulted in diatonic ratios.
The Circle Makers’ handiwork demonstrates a thorough facility with Euclidean geometry and signals an ability to bend living plants at the node without cracking stalks (a skill the Circle Makers developed on the crops on their home planets), and to trace out complex and precise geometric patterns under cover of darkness, with a few notable exceptions during daytime such as Stonehenge. Note too that the art work of the Circle Makers changes from year to year, and displays new and changing patterns of artistic, mathematical and other themes. What we have seen so far is merely the preliminaries. More is to come.
Eyewitnesses to the formation of crop circles agree that they are formed by balls of light. The young Dutchman, Robert van den Broeke, in 1996, consistent with the reports of other eyewitnesses of circle formations, reported that he felt trembling air and crackling noises “as if you take off your sweater over your head,” or, on another occasion, “as if you throw frozen French fries in hot oil.” The crop circle was formed by one or more “bouncing balls of light,” spinning rapidly through the crop “so that it almost resembled a fluorescent disk.” Sometimes the balls of light had a white-bluish or white-pinkish color or at times more orange-like.[iv] The ball of light observed is sometimes the size of a soccer ball or basketball, or it may appear as a tube of light. A 30-foot wide disk of light has also been observed, according to BLT.
In the opinion of the author, these radiant balls of light that create precise pictograms are radioactive electromagnetic force fields. It is known that they result in short-lived radionuclides in the soil within the pictograms. The radionuclides are created by bombardment of the soil with deuterium nuclei (stripped of electrons) or "deuterons" causing sufficient heat to bend the stalks at the nodes but not to blacken or destroy them. Deuterium is an isotope of hydrogen, known as “heavy hydrogen,” consisting of one proton and one neutron. The radionuclides that were left in the soil are: Lead-203, Europium- 146, Tellurium-119m, Iodine-126, Bismuth-205, Vanadium-48, Protactinium- 230, Ytterbium-169, Yttrium-88, Rhodium-102, and Rhodium- 102m.[v] The source of these radionuclides is activation by deuterons. Activation is the process of bombarding atomic nuclei with high-energy subatomic particles. The nuclei capture the subatomic particles and are transformed into different nuclei, i.e., the radioactive isotopes found in crop circles. The intention of these extraterrestrial pictogram artists is benign and instructional. But it is not a good idea at all to be near crop circles during formations (very dangerous) or even to visit them for a day or two after formation (possibly dangerous especially to pregnant women, patients with pacemakers, or to children notwithstanding that emission levels appear to be below levels injurious to health). It is surmised that to activate atomic nuclei, deuterons would have to possess energies exceeding one mega-electron-volt (MeV). That means that each deuteron would have to be accelerated by an enormous electrical field possessing a total potential of not less than a staggering one million volts -- pretty damn impressive from a ball of light directed and controlled from a distant spacecraft, in my opinion.
The source of such vast but controlled concentrations of focused electrical energy and heat, is radioactive. There are other methods to achieve such concentrations of energy that are not radioactive, but not in the confined space of a spacecraft. This heat and electricity is what expands the liquid core of the plant cells in the nodes or knuckles (pulvini) along the stem of the plants and causes the nodes to lengthen acting as a flexible ligament, and allowing the plants to bend unharmed and lie flat on the ground. High-purity white, powdery deposits of silicon dioxide, SiO2, on the crop circle plants is found in small, perfectly round spheres with average diameters of 50 micrometers, indicative of the intense heat applied during formation. High levels of magnetite (10 to 40 microns of relatively pure magnetic iron ore) found in crop circles, up to 600-fold above normal, are a telltale sign that the Circle Makers’ spacecraft have picked up meteoritic dust in their travels in and out of Earth’s atmosphere. The magnetite is typically found at or just outside the perimeters of the crop circles, suggestive of a spinning energy vortex as the distribution mechanism. Sometimes the magnetite is deposited linearly or at times at the center and drops off towards the perimeter.
Recent X-ray diffraction examination of clay within crop circle soils conducted by BLT Research Team, Inc., as compared to control soils from outside the flattened-crop circle areas, demonstrates growth of illite/mica crystals within the crop circle clay. The temperatures needed (a minimum of 6-800°C over a period of several hours) to cause mica crystal growth would incinerate any living plants in the crop circle. There is simply no energy source that can selectively create mica crystals in clay without the intense heat or pressures needed, without at the same time destroying the plants within the crop circles. Hence, BLT has concluded that “we may be observing a new--as yet undiscovered--energy source at work.” In other words, there is no energy source known to humans that can create the mica crystal growth in the clay without also obliterating the plants in the same location. In the tested crop circles where the mica crystal growth was discerned, node lengthening was also found in the circle plants and about 68% of the plants contained expulsion cavities (nodes blown out from within) in one or more nodes. All of these scientific studies point to clear scientific indicia permitting verification of the genuine crop circles -- as distinguished from those planked out by unscrupulous persons bent on unfairly boosting revenues.
Might someone enamored of geometry and mathematics be seeking to teach us something by their crop pictograms? The truth is out there. Let men and women go in search of the truth honestly, faithfully and scientifically, using all of the skills, intelligence and moral sense that God bestowed upon them.
The crop circles show us the benign side of the ET persona and their willingness to travel so far to share with us and teach. Their crop art are showings of magnificent beauty, good will, and extraordinary geometric, mathematical and musical knowledge. They are telling us that their intentions are good. These benign Circle Makers take delight in mysteriously and gradually (so as not to frighten) revealing themselves in their formations over lengthy periods of time. They typically do their work at night by remote control from their spacecraft when no one can see them. How exciting for the Circle Makers, almost like Papa playing Santa Clause and watching the exuberance on our faces when we were young’uns. More is to come, though, much more. The crop circles have only just begun. The Circle Makers absolutely delight in tantalizing, amusing and teaching the human race, revealing their intelligence and benign nature, and even displaying their fondness for friendship. It must be a great adventure to design and form these wondrous pictograms! They want to show us that they have a heart, that they care for us, that they recognize the leaps in human progress and especially man’s forays into the air with flying machines early in the 20th century – that caught their attention -- and later into space beginning in the 1960’s – that really caught their attention. American astronauts including on the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and Shuttle missions as well as Russian cosmonauts have from time to time looked out their portholes and viewed unidentified spacecraft tracking alongside from a distance, engaged in surveillance.
This book advances the hypothesis that the crop circles are beneficent signs, and they are becoming more revealing of the Circle Makers, leading to something fantastic that has not yet happened – within this new century. It is no accident that crop circles frequently appear near to sites of historical interest such as Stonehenge, which appear originally to been used to predict astronomical events.[vi] These ET astronauts understand something of the historical significance of these sites to humans. They have been studying mankind and writing up and filing their reports for tens of thousands of years.
On August 2 to 3, 2004, the Circle Makers created the crop formation at Silbury Hill, Wiltshire, UK.[vii] Of interest, the circle’s border is a mirror image of a rare statue of the Aztec god, Xochipilli -- Prince of Flowers, Maizes, Love, Games, Beauty, Song and Dance. Xochi means 'flower,' while pilli means prince or child. In the mid-1800's, a 16th century Aztec statue of Xochipilli was unearthed from the volcano Popocatapetl near Tlamanalco, Mexico. That statue is of a single figure of the Aztec god seated upon a temple-like base. The August 2004 Silbury Hill crop formation suggests two cultures joining hands in friendship, against the Aztec art motif. Both the statue and the base upon which it sits are covered in carvings of sacred and psychoactive flowers including mushrooms (Psilocybe aztecorum), tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum), morning glory (Turbina corymbosa), sinicuichi (Heimia salicifolia), possibly cacahuaxochitl (Quararibea funebris), and an unidentified flower. This Aztec god sits cross-legged on the base, head tilted up, eyes open, jaw tensed, with his mouth half open. The statue itself is currently housed in the Museo Nacional de Anthropologia of Mexico. The ancient Aztec statue's repeating base design of 90-degree mazes back-to-back is similar to, but curving in the opposite direction of, the border of the August 3, 2004 crop circle at Silbury Hill.
The crop circles are becoming more and more revelatory of their Makers’ characters. Earth is really quite the planet, in case you didn’t notice. Consider their pictograms over the years as a continuing work of art still in progress that is leading to a friendly encounter if the invitation is accepted. Consider them as a continuing slide show from another world leading to a grand finale. The Makers are gradually teaching us over many, many years who they are, unfolding the mystery slowly but surely, giving us confidence in their intelligence and good intentions, leading to a crescendo as in Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 “Choral” – a formal encounter (I believe) later this century. Nothing right away, though. But the cosmic slide show on our farms and fields will continue and become even more exciting. The world should be watching intently, grasping every ounce of information that the crop circles reveal. It would be desirable when this does occur that we can show these foreign astronauts that we take interest in their culture just as they have shown interest in ours. Humans and all rational beings are naturally apprehensive of the unknown. Yet, does it occur to us that these alien astronauts are likewise apprehensive of us? Consider how the extraterrestrials who crashed in New Mexico in July 1947 were treated, with our soldiers frightening them, hollering and pointing guns at them. This was a botched opportunity. What would intelligent beings from other worlds think of mankind with its proclivity for wars that have worsened in the last millennium? Must we not consider how human civilization with its pervasive wars and continuing violence appears to extraterrestrial civilizations in the Universe? Can common ground be found? I submit that it can, and but there is much groundwork that should be undertaken. Consider the Tan Hill, England crop formation on July 31, 2004.[viii] It began to form on July 28 this year, appearing as the head and face of an extraterrestrial with outstretched arms in a friendly gesture of greeting. On July 29, three circles were added below the head. On July 30, additional circles were added below the ET head with the other three circles, diminishing in size away from the head, suggesting travel from a distant world. On July 31, the formation was completed with eight circles added on each side in the general shape of arms. The July 2004 Tan Hill glyph is one of the most revelatory crop circles ever. The structures are now so large-scale and intricate that they cannot be formed in a few minutes as with glyphs of prior years. That is why the Circle makers are taking three days or so to fo

The analysis was conducted from an oval-shaped crop circle was formed the night of July 31/ August 1, 1991, near the town of Beckhampton, England. On August 5th, the scientists gathered two soil samples inside it and took a control several dozen feet away. Their emissions of alpha and beta particles were measured with a Tennelec/Nucleus LB4000-8 gas flow counter on August 18th. Their emissions proved to be markedly elevated, compared to the control. One sample (1A) yielded alpha emissions 198% above the control, and beta emissions 48% above the control. The other sample (1B) yielded alpha emissions 45% above the control, and beta emissions 57% above the control.

[v] “The Discovery of Thirteen Short-Lived Radionuclides in Soil Samples from an English Crop Circle,” by Marshall Dudley, Tennelec/Nucleus, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, USA and Michael Chorost, Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, USA (1991).
